Therapeutic support that honours who you are
Room To Be offers counselling for NDIS participants — teenagers and adults — in a way that is respectful, collaborative and tailored to the individual.
Living with disability, neurodivergence, chronic health conditions or complex life experiences can bring unique challenges. Counselling provides a supportive space to explore those experiences, build emotional resilience, and strengthen confidence in daily life.
Sessions are guided by your goals, your pace, and what feels most meaningful to you.
How counselling can help
People access counselling through the NDIS for many different reasons, including:
-
Anxiety, stress or emotional overwhelm
-
Low mood or feeling stuck
-
Navigating identity, disability or neurodivergence
-
Building confidence and self-advocacy skills
-
Making sense of difficult or past experiences
-
Adjusting to life changes or health diagnoses
-
Emotional regulation and coping skills
-
Social confidence and relationships
-
Strengthening independence and daily living confidence
Counselling can support both emotional wellbeing and practical capacity-building, depending on your plan goals.
NDIS Participants

Our approach
Counselling at ROOM TO BE is person-centred, trauma-aware and neuro-affirming.
This means:
• You are welcomed and accepted as you are
• We work with your strengths, interests and ways of processing
• Sessions move at a pace that feels safe
• You are supported to build skills in ways that feel natural and achievable
Creative approaches can be included when helpful — such as drawing, painting, using symbols and figurines, mindfulness, imagery, or gentle body awareness. These are always optional and guided by your comfort.
ROOM T BE is a space where you can simply be yourself.
